Aims and Objectives

Aims

To expand our programmes into other inner London boroughs.

Our four year strategic plan is to continue our existing ‘Youth Empowerment Programme’ for disadvantaged young people on the most disaffected estates in Lambeth and launch further programmes on similar estates in Hackney, Westminster and the City of London.

Objectives

To bring a focus to disadvantaged youngsters through an introduction to photography and film that allows them to move out of the vicious circle of violence, drugs and gang related estate life.

It is vital that we listen to those we support. To this end we have formed ‘Community Liaison Groups’ on each estate which allow young people to identify for themselves the aims and skills they need if they are to move on in life. Our programme is therefore designed around just these aims and skills the young people have identified.

The majority of those we work with have dropped out of school in their early teens and for them their overriding goal (and difficulty) is finding employment. As a result we refer those who have completed our initial programme to our Work-Ready project which is delivered in partnership with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation. For many this path provides a direct route into the working world.

Values

We aim to be pioneering, significant, celebrated, effective, life changing, transparent and accountable.  By constantly measuring ourselves against these values, we ensure our approaches are consistent with who we are and how we wish to be seen by others.
