Aims and Objectives

To expand and launch the Positive View ‘Youth Empowerment Programme’ into further Inner London boroughs.

Our five-year strategic plan is focused on delivering our unique programme on challenging estates in Lambeth, Westminster and Southwark – with further projects planned for launch in Kensington and Chelsea, Hackney and the City of London from January 2019.

To bring a focus to disadvantaged youngsters through an introduction to photography and film that allows them to move out of the vicious circle of violence, drugs and gang related estate life.

It is vital that we listen to those we support. To this end we have formed ‘Community Liaison Groups’ on each estate which allow young people to identify for themselves the aims and skills they need if they are to move on in life. Our programme is therefore designed around just these aims and skills the young people have identified.

The majority of those we work with have dropped out of school in their early teens and for them their overriding goal (and difficulty) is finding employment. As a result we refer those who have completed our initial programme to our Work-Ready project which is delivered in partnership with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation. For many this path provides a direct route into the working world.

We aim to be pioneering, significant, celebrated, effective, life changing, transparent and accountable.  By constantly measuring ourselves against these values, we ensure our approaches are consistent with who we are and how we wish to be seen by others.
